The bed bug (Cimex lectularius) has become a real scourge in France. These small brown insects, the size of an apple seed, feed on human blood at night. Their bites cause significant itching, but it is especially the psychological impact that is devastating (insomnia, anxiety, paranoia).
They are hidden everywhere: seams of mattresses, baseboards, plinths, bedside tables, electrical outlets, or even behind the frames on the wall.
Signs of presence
- Black traces (their dejections) of the size of a pin head on the base or mattress.
- Small blood stains on your sheets (scrambled pins during the night).
- Grouped or onion-line pikurs on the discovered parts of your body when you wake up.
Eradication: A Rugourous Process with Multiple Passages
Eliminating bed bugs yourself is almost impossible without heavy equipment. Speed 3D Services combines several methods for 100% efficiency. The intervention still requires several passages (on average 2 or 3) spaced about 10 days apart to break the egg hatching cycle.

Who can have bed bugs?
Bed bugs can infest anyone and it is sometimes complicated to know where they come from. According to Anses, 11% of French households were infected between 2017 and 2022. Low income is not linked to higher risk. Everyone can be concerned.
Do bugs transmit diseases?
No. According to Anses, bed bugs do not transmit disease. On the other hand, stings can cause itching, hives, and especially sleep disorders and generalized anxiety as they sting at night.
Is it due to poor hygiene?
No. bed bugs can attack all homes, regardless of the place of residence and the cleanliness of the accommodation.
Can I get some from public transport?
It's possible, but unlikely. If the means of transport is infested, pinholes can be installed in your bags or clothes. As a precaution in case of doubt, wash your clothes at 60°C for 1 hour or place them in the freezer for 72 hours.
Renter or Owner: who has to pay?
The lessor (owner) of the accommodation pays for the intervention. According to Act No.2018-1021 of 23 November 2018, the lessor is required to provide decent housing free from infestation. If you're a beneficiary, the CAF can sometimes help.
